## Keep the WordPress page fast: host the video elsewhere

Keep the page in WordPress. Put the video file on a host, then choose the player.

Plugin, free host, or one embed

The sales page is already in WordPress. The video is too big to upload, or the site slows down when the file is served from the same server.

The best video hosting for WordPress keeps the page and moves the file. Use Presto Player when the file already sits on Bunny Stream, Vimeo or YouTube and you still want chapters, a call to action, an email gate and member-only playback inside WordPress. Use Vidalytics when one embed should host the file and play it.

What each product is, and what it costs, comes from that company's own pages. Notes on reliability come from people who have run these setups for a while. Live campaigns are outside this research. [How we evaluate video tools](/methodology) is where that standard is spelled out.

### Free video hosting for WordPress

A demo can sit on YouTube or on Vimeo's free tier. Those players keep their own controls. A paid-traffic pitch also picks up ads and suggestions that send the viewer off your page. The [Vimeo review](/reviews/vimeo) is the longer note on that host.

Gumlet's Free Forever plan keeps running without a monthly fee. It includes 60 storage minutes and 100 GB of bandwidth a month, with an ad-free player. Those two caps are listed with the free plan on [Gumlet's plan list](https://www.gumlet.com/pricing/). The [Gumlet review](/reviews/gumlet) goes through what the paid plans add.

Vidalytics also has a Free Forever plan, a hosted player you can put on the site before you pay for conversion tracking. Starter and Pro prices are in the paid-traffic section.

Bunny Stream gives you a 14-day trial, and you can start it before you add a card. After the trial you pay for storage and for the traffic you serve. Storage and delivery prices are beside the WordPress block.

### Video hosting plugin for WordPress

Presto Player is the player layer inside WordPress. The plugin adds chapters, a call to action, an email gate, playback for logged-in members, and a LearnDash connection. Storage is a separate bill from the plugin.

The [homepage](https://prestoplayer.com/) says it plays Bunny Stream, Vimeo, YouTube or a file you host yourself, through native blocks for Gutenberg, Elementor, Beaver Builder and Divi. A builder without a native block can use the shortcode from the media hub.

If the files are already in Bunny Stream, open Settings, then Integrations, and connect the library. The steps are in the [integration doc](https://prestoplayer.com/docs/bunnynet-video-library-integration/). The Presto Player block then takes Bunny Stream as the source, and you can browse that library without leaving WordPress.

Starter is $79 a year for one website. The [plan list](https://prestoplayer.com/pricing/) shows that figure as an introductory rate. Renewals are billed at the full price, and the same page offers a 14-day money-back guarantee. You can install the free plugin and use the block before you pay. The [Presto Player review](/reviews/presto-player) goes through the rest of the plans.

The analytics stop at watch time. A test scored on a sale, and revenue tied to a play, are covered in the [video split testing guide](/best/video-a-b-testing-tool).

### Bunny Stream on the page, with or without Presto Player

A plain embed can skip the marketing plugin. The [bunny.net WordPress plugin](https://bunny.net/docs/integrations/wordpress/stream) adds a Stream Video block, and the same clip can go in through the bunnycdn\_stream\_video shortcode.

The [Stream page](https://bunny.net/stream/) includes the player, transcoding and the security features. You pay for storage, from $0.01 per GB, and for delivery, from $0.005 per GB. To price the same video on more than one host, open the [cost per 1,000 plays](/best/vsl-hosting-cost-per-1000-plays) guide. The [video hosting cost calculator](/best/video-hosting-cost-calculator-what-your-vsl-costs-to-serve-each-month) takes your video length and your plays and returns a monthly figure. The [Bunny Stream review](/reviews/bunny-stream) has more on how delivery behaves.

People who run Presto Player and Bunny Stream together for member-only video describe the pairing as easy to set up and stable once it is in place. When playback breaks you have two companies to contact, the one that makes the plugin and the one that hosts the file.

### One embed when the visit has to be tied to a sale

A WordPress sales page on cold traffic asks for more than a library of member videos. One embed that both stores and plays the file saves you from connecting Bunny Stream to a plugin and adding tracking on top.

Vidalytics [hosts and plays the video on your website](https://www.vidalytics.com/), and it is built for VSLs and funnel pages. Start on the free plan if you want to try the player before you pay. Starter is $19 a month when billed annually. Conversion tracking is on Pro, at $63 a month billed annually, listed with the other paid conversion tools on the [plan comparison](https://www.vidalytics.com/pricing).

You are paying for a hosted platform, so the same embed can sit on a page built outside WordPress. The [Vidalytics review](/reviews/vidalytics) spells out the player controls. How a test picks a winner is in the split testing guide.

### Wistia embeds, and Spotlightr for course video

On WordPress, Wistia goes in as the full embed code inside a Custom HTML block, or inside a page builder's code module. The [support article](https://support.wistia.com/en/articles/9691554-embed-videos-on-wordpress) says the Video block and the Embed block have no field for a Wistia URL.

A caching plugin is the usual reason a third-party player fails to load. WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, Perfmatters, Autoptimize and W3 Total Cache can delay, combine or lazy-load the player scripts, so the player stays blank. Exclude Wistia's script domains from those settings. When another third-party player fails the same way, exclude that player's script domains too. Business plan details are in the [Wistia review](/reviews/wistia).

For lessons inside a course, look at Spotlightr. The [homepage](https://spotlightr.com/) offers a free WordPress plugin and a LearnDash integration, so encrypted lesson videos can play inside the course. The [Spotlightr review](/reviews/spotlightr) explains the encryption.

### What breaks the embed on a WordPress page

Once a sales video exceeds the WordPress upload limit, people move the file to another host. Bunny Stream is one they mention.

If the clip plays in a private window and is missing on the public page, exclude the player scripts the way the Wistia section describes, before you change hosts. A live webinar is a different delivery problem, covered in the [live streaming guide](/best/live-streaming-platform-for-business).

### Where I would start

My take: I would start a member site on Presto Player with the files in Bunny Stream, because the block can pull that library from inside WordPress. For cold traffic I would embed Vidalytics and switch on conversion tracking when I need to see which version sold. I would put a short demo on Gumlet's free plan when I am not ready to pay a monthly fee. I would paste a Wistia embed only after excluding its scripts from the caching plugin. I would choose Spotlightr if the lessons are already in LearnDash.

When you need a monthly figure from a usage meter, the [cheap video hosting guide](/best/cheap-video-hosting) compares those bills. The other guides in this cluster are linked from the [video guides hub](/best).
