Quick answer

Kajabi video hosting is our top pick for most people. Kajabi video hosting is Wistia encoding and storage bundled into a Kajabi plan, with no separate hosting fee. Media Library stats cover plays, play rate, engagement and hours watched across every embed of that upload. Website and landing pages can take a YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia embed. The lesson uploader takes a file and rejects a YouTube or Vimeo page link. That is the right setup for course lessons. A sales video that has to tie a play to the order needs a different host, with the course left on Kajabi.

  • Kajabi video hosting. Best for courses, checkout and bundled video in one login. From $179/mo.

Kajabi video hosting is the file storage that comes with a Kajabi plan. The help center is plain about who stores it: Kajabi does not host video, and Wistia encodes the uploads in pages and products at no extra hosting charge. For a course, that is often the whole job. Lessons upload as a file, Wistia encodes them, and Media Library reports plays, play rate, engagement and hours watched across every place that file is embedded.

The limit shows up when the video is a sales letter you pay to send people to. Those stats do not describe buyers against non-buyers, or revenue per play. Website and landing pages can take an embed the help article names as YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia. A sales-letter player is not on that list. The lesson uploader is a different door: it wants a file, and a YouTube or Vimeo page link belongs in the lesson body.

Keep the course, the email and the checkout on Kajabi when they are working. Move only the file that has to prove which cut produced the order. The Kajabi video hosting alternatives rank that choice. Plan prices are in the table below. Hosting is included. Kajabi does not take a platform cut of the sale.

What works

  • Wistia encodes uploads, and the Kajabi plan already includes that hosting
  • Media Library rolls plays, play rate, engagement and hours watched into one view for a file, across every place it is embedded
  • Website and landing pages accept an embed from YouTube, Vimeo or Wistia
  • Kajabi does not take a platform revenue share on sales

What to watch

  • Kajabi does not host the file itself. The help center names Wistia as the partner
  • The lesson uploader rejects a YouTube or Vimeo page link. Those links go in the lesson body
  • The published stats are engagement metrics. The help page does not describe a split of buyers against non-buyers, or revenue per play
  • Page embeds named in the help article are YouTube, Vimeo and Wistia

What users actually say about Kajabi video hosting

Research: unverified

When bundled hosting stops fitting

Creators on Kajabi still hit a 4GB-per-file upload cap and rely on Wistia encoding behind the scenes; some recommend compressing rather than switching the whole platform. Schools that outgrow marketing-oriented Wistia features report cost pressure and look for hosts that integrate with their course stack instead.

“Kajabi is still a great option for organising a large amount of course content via course, community &/or downloads product suite. Max video upload is 4GB but I've never hit that with any of my clients course uploads (plus there's ways to make them smaller).”

u/nzoutofoffice Reddit: Video streaming choice

“We used Wistia for over a year. It's great for marketing teams, but we're an online school and needed different features. Wistia became expensive as we grew. We didn't need all the marketing features, just reliable hosting and LMS integration.”

Budget and analytics tradeoffs

Community advice treats Wistia as strong on analytics but potentially pricier for budget-conscious creators, while all-in-one course platforms like Kajabi are suggested when built-in video is enough.

“Wistia is often recommended, but if you're budget-conscious, it might be on the pricier side; it's solid with good analytics if that's important to you.”

What users say

Course operators still treat the bundled upload as a way to organise a large library. In an r/elearning thread, one of them says the per-file cap has not been a problem after compressing, and that Kajabi remains useful for courses, community and downloads in one place.

The other report is about the partner, not the course stack. An online school that left a standalone Wistia account said the bill grew with the school, and they wanted reliable hosting plus an LMS connection rather than marketing features they were not using. That is the shape of the complaint when the bundled encoder is no longer the right meter.

A third-party payment processor adds a Kajabi fee of 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth and 0.5% on Pro. The plan-by-plan page is Kajabi video hosting pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Does the plan include video hosting?
Yes. The help center says the Wistia partnership is included, with no separate hosting line.
Which embeds can a landing page take?
The Video block article names YouTube, Vimeo and Wistia. A lesson upload is a file, not one of those page links.
Can the stats show who bought?
The published metrics are plays, play rate, engagement and hours watched. A buyer split is not on that list.
