Quick answer

Wistia is our top pick for most people. Wistia is a business video platform for content marketing and lead generation. Engagement reports and player tests sit on the paid plans. A single sales letter is a smaller job than the platform is built for. The test measures how long people watched. The purchase is recorded on your checkout.

  • Wistia. Best for B2B video. Has a free tier.

When a marketing team searches for Wistia, the question is usually "is this the video platform that will make our content pull leads." For B2B and SaaS content marketing, the answer is often yes. Wistia hosts video with clean, ad-free playback, then adds the marketing layer most hosts keep thin: branded embeds, lead-capture forms and CTAs inside the player, heatmaps, A/B testing, webinars, and real integrations with HubSpot and Marketo so a view becomes a scored lead.

Where it is the wrong tool is a classic direct-response funnel. Wistia is built for content marketing and lead generation. It does not pick a split-test winner by sales, and it does not send a watch-depth pixel to your ad account. If your business runs on paid traffic to a sales letter, a dedicated VSL player answers the question Wistia does not. This review is about telling those two jobs apart. If the other name on the shortlist is a sales recorder, the Vidyard vs Wistia comparison sets this host against that per-seat tool. If the other name is an enterprise television platform, the Wistia vs Brightcove comparison separates this marketing host from that sales-led cloud.

What works

  • Ad-free playback on every row
  • Engagement reports from the first paid row
  • Lead scoring with the automation connections
  • A free starting library

What to watch

  • Its reports stop at the lead and never see the sale on your checkout
  • Additional users are billed separately
  • Marketing automation starts on Business + Signals, above the plan that has the reports

What users actually say about Wistia

Research: unverified

Rep email video vs marketing library

Buyers often weigh Vidyard for one-to-one email outreach while keeping Wistia for hosted marketing video and analytics on which storylines hold attention.

“Vidyard's go video can embed into our outlook email's easier than Soapbox.”

u/oddgoblins Reddit: Wistia vs. Vidyard

“I used Vidyard and Loom for rough cuts and Wistia analytics to see which storylines drove watches and replies.”

Plan cards

The pricing page prints an annual rate on the Business card. The help center prices an added user separately on an annual plan and on a monthly plan.

“$79/mo billed annually”

Anonymous Blog: Wistia pricing

“Depending on your plan, you can add users to your account for an additional $25 each per month on an annual plan, $31.25 per month on a monthly plan, or a custom price.”

What users say

When Vimeo changed its prices, marketing teams in the video-hosting threads often suggested Wistia instead. They praise its polished embeds, analytics that are easy to read and the CRM connection that turns a view into a lead. G2 reviewers point to the same things, along with responsive support.

The most common complaint is that Wistia is overkill when all you need is to upload and embed. Price comes second. Teams that barely touch the marketing features say Business, and above all Business + Signals with its CRM sync, costs more than they get out of it.

Pricing

The table below follows the plan cards and the comparison on Wistia's pricing page. The annual column matches the price on each card.

Plan Annual Users Bandwidth Yearly seat Monthly seat For a marketer
Free $0 1 200 GB Not included Not included Ad-free player. The Wistia logo stays.
Business $79/mo 3+ 1 TB $25 $31.25 Logo off. Heatmaps and A/B tests.
Business + Signals $329/mo 3+ 1 TB $25 $31.25 Adds HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot and lead scoring.
Enterprise Custom Custom 2 TB Custom Custom The Signals tools, with custom seats.

Business and Business + Signals show yearly prices. The monthly seat column comes from the help center, and the yearly seat column comes from the pricing table. Enterprise is priced by quote from Wistia's sales team. The plan cards do not list a monthly price for Business.

Wistia for a sales video

Use Wistia for a sales video when the page needs an ad-free embed and the lead belongs in HubSpot, Marketo or Pardot. Those connections, and automated lead scoring, sit on the Signals row and on Enterprise. The first paid row takes the brand mark off the player and turns on heatmaps and a test that exports a CSV.

If you need the video to sell, see the Wistia alternatives and choose from that list. For a sales-letter player, read Vidalytics vs Wistia or VTurb vs Wistia. If the other option is a general host, read Wistia vs Vimeo. The Wistia pricing guide goes through the same plans in more detail.

Changelog

  • 14 Sep 2026 — First published. We read Wistia's pricing and product pages and long-term user reports, and set out what each plan includes.
  • 24 Oct 2026: The title now names the review. The plan table lists each card with seats, bandwidth and the marketing tools on that row. A new section on sales video links the alternatives page, the Vidalytics, VTurb and Vimeo comparisons, and the pricing guide.

Frequently asked questions

What do the seat columns charge for?
One more person on the account. A yearly plan and a monthly plan use different seat rates, both in the table. The top row does not sell extra seats.
Can a sales video live on Wistia?
Yes, as the embed on the page. Lead scoring sits on the Signals row. Keep the order list in the cart.
Which row removes the logo?
Every plan you pay for. The top row keeps the Wistia name on the player.
Where do the automation tools start?
On the Signals row, with Enterprise beside it. Reports and the CSV test start one row earlier.
